Polylam

The ultimate in security and ballistics glazing, Polylam™ offers fully laminated combinations of glass, polycarbonate, and/or acrylic. Using a specially developed interlayer, the durability and resilience of glass can be effectively combined with the strength and energy absorbing capabilities of polycarbonate and acrylic.

Polylam™ is a two-part, heated urethane system which cures and bonds without the need for an autoclave or UV-curing lights. This eliminates the distortion, warping, and bowing problems encountered with these other systems.

  • Optically clear interlayer
  • Incredible mechanical strength
  • Flexibility in manufacturing
  • Low shrinkage interlayer, perfect for textured, cast, and carved glass
  • 99.9% UV protection
  • Low Energy Consumption

Glasslam’s Polylam process is also the world’s easiest for laminating glass to polycarbonate for light weight ballistic products. Because there is no heat involved in the cure of glass to polycarbonate laminating, light weight ballistic production is simple and affordable.  This gives the fabricator access to a high-margin, high-growth glass market.

Here is an amazing History Channel video showing the Glasslam system used with ballistic glass:
