The
strongest, clearest and haze free Hurricane Impact Resistant
Glass
Safety-Plus®
II hurricane impact resistant glass was developed following
extensive research by Glasslam into the needs of the market
place. Simplicity of use, architectural appeal and of course
performance, were the key objectives met by this design.

With a
single .090 interlayer, 3/16th glass, Safety-Plus®II
passed Dade County large missile impact (twice)
then 32,000 cycles up to 339 p.s.f.
with rubber gasket both sides and no bonding of glass to frame
with silicone.

|
- Passes
large missile test in all thickness of glass.
Annealed, Heat Strengthened and Tempered.
Both Monolithic and Insulated Glass.
- Very
high design pressures can be achieved as tempered
glass can now be used.
- Safety-Plus®II
has both UV stabilizer& 99.9% blocker
(unlike UV curing resins).
- Incredible
Strength & excellent adhesion to glass.
- Compatible
with all high performance glass.

Glasslam
is always at the forefront of laminated glass technology and
once again has developed a product that is light years ahead
of any other hurricane impact glass product available today,
at a price that is extremely competitive to any other impact
glass.
Safety-Plus®
II is based on the success of the original Safety-Plus®
and maintains the PET edge flap. This allows the glass to
be bonded or mechanically fastened to the window frame. This
patented principle (US patent No. 5,778,629) has allowed systems
with very high design pressures and large size openings (72"x144")
to be successfully tested. It also eliminates the large quantities
of unsightly, slow and expensive, messy structural silicone
required for other materials.
With Safety-Plus® II, the PET 'flap' is now only at the
periphery of the glass and is hidden behind the window sight
line. The single interlayer is a new advanced material, which
provides the strength required and is totally free of any
noticeable haze or distortion.
Once
every few years a product comes along that revolutionizes
an industry. For example, Levis with Jeans, Polaroid with
the instant photo, Microsoft with Windows and now Glasslam
with Safety-Plus® II. It is so superior to other impact
products and yet it is less expensive than almost all others!
Safety-Plus®
II should be glazed according to specifications laid down
by the Glass Association of North America (GANA) glazing manuals.

The
INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CODES require insulated glass with Low-E
coatings. The patented features of Safety Plus® II allows
for the use of insulated glass as can be seen in this
schematic without compromising the design pressures
or the maximum opening sizes.
